Rita Kelly Obituary
AIKEN - Mrs. Rita Kelly, 81, beloved wife of Mr. Russell Kelly of Aiken, S.C., entered into rest on Sunday, December 3, 2023.
A Celebration of Life service will be at 5 p.m. Friday, December 8, 2023, at Grace Presbyterian Church, 49 Varden Drive, Aiken, SC 29803. Honors will be accorded by the United States Air Force. The family will greet friends immediately following the service.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Victor and Louise Eakins Creasey, and her sister, Donna Jean Krall.
Left to cherish her memory, along with her husband, Russell, is her son, Barry Kelly, of Florida.
Mrs. Kelly was born in Charleston, West Virginia. She proudly and with honor served her country in the United States Air Force and as a Captain with the Civil Air Patrol. Rita could fly a plane before she learned to drive a car. She and Russell both worked for the F.B.I. in Washington, D.C. and were there when Dr. King was assassinated. On the G.I. Bill, Rita earned her degree in Computer Programming. She worked for Aiken Technical College, the S.C. Technical College System, Columbia, S.C., and she retired from Denmark Technical College as the Director of Information Resource Management. She was a member of Grace Presbyterian Church, Aiken, S.C.
