Richard "Ricky" Poston
Aiken - Richard Levi Poston, age 65, entered into rest Wednesday, December 23, 2020, following a brief illness.
Ricky, as he was affectionately known, was born July 28, 1955 in Augusta, GA to Harry O. Poston Sr. and the late Betty Johnson Poston. He was a life-long resident of Aiken, SC. He was a 1974 graduate of Aiken High School. He was employed with W.R. Grace Co. and George Funeral Home. He received a degree in Theology from Covington Theology Seminary. He loved the Lord and served as a Deacon for many years. Ricky was a member of Hillview Baptist Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, and was an avid Gamecock Fan. His true passion was being "Poppi" to his grandchildren.
In addition to his mother, Ricky was preceded in death by a sister, Beth Phillips.
Survivors include his beloved wife of forty-two years, Karen B. Poston; a daughter, Katie Poston Bateman (Allen), Aiken, SC; a son, Charlie Poston (Fiance;, Brittany Bowen), Graniteville, SC; two grandchildren, Olivia and Chase Bateman; a sister, Terry Cilica; two brothers, Harry Poston Jr. and Larry Poston (Michelle).
The family will receive friends beginning at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 27, 2020, at Hillview Baptist Church with the funeral service following at 3:00 p.m. at the church, Pastors Mike McAlpin and Danny Burleson officiating. Interment will follow in Southlawn Cemetery.
The service will be live-streamed on the official George Funeral Home & Cremation Center Facebook page (facebook.com/GFHCC) beginning at 3:00 p.m. Sunday.
