Paul "Billy" Evans
SALLEY - SFC Paul Emory Evans entered into rest on January 28th at Anchor Healthcare Center. He was born on September 4, 1948, to Bossie and Susie Eubanks Evans. Paul attended A.L. Corbett High in Wagener, SC and graduated in 1966. He was drafted into the US Army in 1968 and served one tour in Vietnam with the 101st Airborne Division 2nd 501st Infantry. He also served in Desert Shield/Desert Storm from 1990-1991. Paul retired from the US Army Reserves after serving 20 years with the 450th Ordinance Unit in Aiken, SC. He also worked many years at both Owens-Corning Fiberglass and Wackenhut Security at SRS.
Paul is survived by his wife of 51 years, Katie Hay Evans. Children: Bridgett Evans Stroman (Rubin), Graniteville; Brandon Evans, Atlanta, GA; Vickie Breeland, Aiken; Lillard Evans (Shi), Burke, VA; Rico Williams (Francis), Graniteville; and Chandra Marshall, Aiken. Siblings: Rosalee (Peggy) Evans, Albany, NY; Carol Kitchings, North Augusta, SC; Edgar Evans (Lena), Evans, GA; Cedar Lawrence (Dr. Rodell), Martinez, GA; and Gary Evans, Aiken, SC. Two siblings preceded him in death, Rosetta (Jean) and Freddie (Everett) Evans. A host of grandkids, great grandkids, in-laws, nieces, nephews, and other family and friends.
Visitation will be Friday, February 10, 3-7pm at Dignity Mortuary in Salley, SC. Funeral Services will be Saturday, February 11, 12 noon at Sardis Missionary Baptist Church in Salley, SC.
