Myrtle Baird Obituary
AIKEN, SC - Funeral services for Myrtle Lee Widener Baird, 79, of Aiken, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 5, 2016 at St. Catherine Orthodox Church. Celebrants will be Father Mark Mancuso and Father Gregory Rogers. Burial will follow in Aiken Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Wayne Baird, Mike Baird, Robert Baird, Matthew Dillon Baird Cavalcante, Johnathan Baird and Joshua Baird. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Friday at GEORGE FUNERAL HOME. There will be a Litya for the departed at 7 p.m. Mrs. Baird was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters.
Mrs. Baird, widow of John William Baird, passed away on Wednesday, March 2, 2016. Born in Aiken, she was a daughter of the late Welcome and Belle Widener. She was a lifetime area resident and a member of St. Elizabeth Orthodox Church, in West Columbia.
Survivors include her daughter, Sherry Baird Cavalcante of Valdese, NC; sons, Wayne Baird of Aiken, Mike Baird (Nancy) of Ft. Walton Beach, Florida and Robert Baird (Christina) of Lexington; a sister, Marie Ammons of Graniteville; a brother Horace Widener (Emma Jean) of Clearwater; 13 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
