Myra Painter Obituary

AIKEN – Mrs. Myra Elaine Bright Painter, age72, passed away peacefully at home on September 2, 2022.
Mrs. Painter was born in Gaffney, SC and lived the past 50 years in Aiken. Mrs. Painter was an active member of Millbrook Baptist Church for many years. She was the secretary of the Agape Sunday School Class. Before becoming a mother she was employed as a dental assistant. She enjoyed traveling and collecting purple glass that she found at antique shops during her travels.
Survivors include her husband, Ralph E. Painter, and brothers, Roger (Rita) Bright of Mountain Home, NC, and Glenn Bright of Florence, SC.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Winfred Nephi Bright and Myra Evelyn Parker Bright, and her two sons, Ralph E. Painter, III (Rusty), and Darren Wesley Painter.
Her funeral will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday, September 6, 2022 at Shellhouse Funeral Home, 924 Hayne Ave. with the Rev. Dr. Stephen Cannon and the Rev. Bill Howard III officiating. The family will receive friends following the service. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday in Oakland Cemetery, 717 College Dr., Gaffney, SC 29340 at 2:00 PM.
