Margaret Ogilvie Hamby
Aiken - Margaret Ogilvie Hamby, age 79, KF7KAM, passed away at her home in Aiken SC, Saturday March 26, 2022 where she enjoyed retirement with her husband, Horace Hamby.
She moved to South Carolina from Washington State where she raised her family of four children, having moved there from Atlanta Ga. She was born in Charleston SC. Hobbies included Ancestry research, water painting and gardening. Active in the daughters of American Revolution; Chapter President in Washington State, United Daughters of the Confederacy, Colonial Dames and Daughters of the American Revolution.
Preceded in death by father, Edward Ogilvie, mother, Lillian Ogilvie, her brother Edward Ogilvie and her son, Charles Hamby. Survived by Charles' wife, Bobbie Hamby their children Brooke, Bryan and Brandon Hamby; son, Michael Hamby wife Melissa and children Katie and Ryan; daughter, Margaret and Husband Matt Weir their children Tyler, Brant and Hailey Weir; daughter, Wendy and husband, Gordy Paige their children Robert, Julia and Elisa Paige.
There will be a Celebration of Margaret's Life, Friday afternoon, April 1st at 2 o'clock at the Shellhouse-Rivers Funeral Home, 715 E Pine Log Road. The service will be livestreamed on her obituary page on the funeral home's website. Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery in Charleston, SC. If desired contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society (www.cancer.org), and all are urged to be tested annually. KF7KAM is silent key, 73 and 88'.
