Margaret Foreman Obituary

Margaret Foreman
AIKEN - Margaret Jeanette Foreman, 70, passed away on Tuesday, December 18, 2018, at her home in Aiken.
Margaret was born in Easley, South Carolina, and raised in Aiken. She was a proud graduate of Aiken High School Class of 1964. She received her undergraduate degree at Converse College and did graduate work at the University of South Carolina.
After leaving USC, Margaret moved to Washington, D.C. to serve as an assistant to U.S. Congressman William Jennings Bryan Dorn of South Carolina. She later served on the staff of the House Veterans Affairs Committee, proudly promoting the best interests of the brave men and women who serve in our armed forces. Margaret later lived in New York City, where she had a role as an extra in the movie "Men Don't Leave", something that as an aspiring actress, she was very proud of. In New York, and later in San Francisco, Margaret worked with PC Magazine and the Ziff Davis Company.
In 2002, Margaret moved back to her beloved Aiken, where she dedicated herself to serving her community. She did a great deal of volunteer work with the Aiken Mid-Day Lions Club and Aiken Lions Club, as well as with the Salvation Army of Aiken, Area Churches Serving Together, and Helping Hands. An active member of Aiken's First Baptist Church, Margaret was part of the Faith Explorers Sunday School Class and the Joy Seekers Group, also participating in women's mission outreach.
Margaret was the daughter of the late Arthur Ashley Foreman, Jr. and Dorothy Harris Foreman. She is survived by her sister Dorothy Foreman Hall and brother-in-law Walter A. Hall of McLean, VA; niece Margaret Elizabeth Hall and nephew Nelson Foreman Hall also of McLean, VA; her uncle, Fielding Lewis Foreman of Edisto, SC; and cousins Ashley Foreman of New Ellenton, Alan Foreman of Aiken, Lewis Foreman of Walterboro, Louise Maynard of Belton, and Ellen Boyd of Ashville, NC.
A memorial service will be held 11:00 AM Friday, December 21, 2018 at Aiken's First Baptist Church with the Reverends Ronnie Brewer and Fred Andrea III officiating. The family will receive friends following the service in the church sanctuary. Interment will be private.
The family asks that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Aiken Mid-Day Lions Club, PO Box 5803, Aiken, SC 29804 or Aiken's First Baptist Church, 120 Chesterfield St., NE, Aiken, SC 29801.

I am so sorry I will miss Margaret's funeral. We were in the Mid-Day Lions club together and I thought a great deal of her. She was a tireless worker! My son has his deployment ceremony at USCA Convocation center in the morning and that's the only reason I won't be there.

So sorry to lose Margaret, the "baby" of our class of 64. She had a big smile, a big heart, a great sense of humor and a lot of good memories of an exciting life.
