Joseph "Billy" William Peacock
NORTH AUGUSTA - Mr. Joseph "Billy" William Peacock, a cherished husband, father, educator, and friend, passed away peacefully at his residence on Monday, April 14th, 2025, at the age of 80.
The family will greet friends on Thursday evening, April 17, 2025 from 5 until 7 o'clock at Clearwater First Baptist Church, 17 Belvedere Rd. Beech Island, SC 29842. A Celebration of Life service will begin at 1 o'clock Friday, April 18, 2025 at the church. Pastors Bear Grant and Charlie Crews will officiate. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers include Tim Kennedy, Wayne Nappier, Mike Allen, Paul Peacock, Joel Broome, and Tim Jones. Honorary pallbearers include members of the Master Workers Sunday School Class and members of GaSCar Antique Car Club.
Billy was a lifelong member of Clearwater First Baptist Church, having joined the congregation 54 years ago upon his marriage to Esther. His faith was a cornerstone of his life, and he faithfully served as both a deacon and Sunday School teacher. A dedicated educator, Billy devoted over 37 years of his life to the Aiken County School District, where he served in various roles from teacher to principal. Billy had a passion and commitment to nurturing young minds and left a lasting impact on countless students and colleagues. In addition to his professional and spiritual commitments, Billy had a love for cars and was a member of the GaSCar Antique Car Club. Above all, Billy was a beloved family man and friend. His warmth and generosity will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
In addition to his parents, Harold Belton Sr. and Thelma Williams Peacock, Billy is preceded in death by his brother, Harold B. Peacock Jr. and brother-in law, Ralph S. Kennedy.
Left to cherish his memory along with his loving wife of 54 years, Mrs. Esther Kennedy Peacock, are their two daughters Marsha Peacock and Meredith P. Brisson; son-in law Jim Brisson; sisters-in-law Carolyn Peacock and Martha Kennedy; Coco Chanel and Rory, his constant four-legged companions; and countless other family members and friends.
Memorial contributions in memory of Billy may be made to the Clearwater First Baptist Church Building Fund.
