John Daspit Obituary
COLUMBIA - John Warren Daspit, 65, of Columbia, SC, loving husband of Leslie Spratlin Daspit, passed away peacefully at Prisma Health Baptist Parkridge Hospital on Sunday, June 4, 2023, following an extended illness.
Born on January 9, 1958 in Augusta, Georgia, he was the son of the late Ray Mary & Woodson Daspit. John was a graduate of St Angela Academy and attended both College of Charleston and Midlands Technical College. He enjoyed volunteering with Special Olympics in Columbia for many years. John worked with Palmetto Poison Control Center and retired from CSC formally PMSC. John enjoyed woodworking, traveling, and reading.
Surviving in addition to his wife are his siblings, Tom (Patty) Daspit, Morgan Hill, California; Mary (Raymond) Dufour, Aiken, SC and Jennifer Daspit, Aiken, SC. Also surviving are 4 nephews; Jonathan (Honoka) Daspit, James Daspit, Max Dufour and Zach (Kelsey) Forrest and 2 nieces: Amanda Daspit and Allison Dufour. John was predeceased by his niece, Jessica. All of whom he loved dearly.
Per John's wishes there was no funeral or memorial service.
