Thomas Wilson Obituary

Thomas Wilson

Aiken - Thomas Alexander Wilson, lovingly known as "Tom," passed away on March 23, 2026, in West Columbia, South Carolina, at the age of 68. He was born on March 2, 1958, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and grew up in Aiken, South Carolina, where he graduated from Aiken High School in 1976.

An old soul at heart yet young in spirit, Tom found joy in life's simple pleasures. He loved good music, golfing, fishing, traveling, watching sports, playing games, and spending quality time with family and friends. Tom was strong, not just in his physical stature, but in his mind and heart; someone who had experienced many of life's obstacles and overcame them with perseverance and grit. Known for his warm presence, enthusiastic personality, and the most contagious laugh, he never met a stranger. He had an uncanny ability to light up any room he entered. Tom loved to tell a story, and he sure was good at it. Those who knew him treasured his wisdom and humor.

He was a smart man, irreplaceable in his craft, who worked hard for everything he had. His career in the commercial waterproofing industry spanned decades and was marked by hard work and innovation. He began in the field- digging ditches, waterproofing foundations, and learning every aspect of the trade from the ground up. Through years of dedication, he built a reputation for excellence and went on to lead major projects, including overseeing the entire waterproofing scope for the Georgia Aquarium. In 2013, he proudly founded Wilson Industrial Restoration, a company that reflected his values, work ethic, and vision. Tom remained deeply involved in every aspect of the business, committed not only to the work but to the people behind it. He built relationships rooted in trust, respect, and loyalty. To him, his employees weren't just a team, but a family.

Tom was a proud, devoted father to his three daughters; Lauren Wilson-Novak (Chris), Alexis Meadows (Austin), and Joanna Wilson. If you knew him, you definitely knew about his girls. He was a fun-loving Granddaddy to Noah and Izzie Novak and Addy Meadows. Tom was a loving son to Alice Kierspe and the late Thomas Wilson. He was the oldest of four children; a protective and caring brother to Nancy Wilson, the late Sara Darabaris (the late Steve) and William Wilson (Josefina). Tom's partner, Denise Litano, held a special place in his heart as his eternal love. He was Uncle Tom to Mishka Aminov, Samantha Wilson, Sara Wilson, and America Tlaczani-Cuahuizo. His dear beloved pup, Dottie, went before him and was always the best furry companion he could've asked for. Tom was an incredible friend to so many.

Tom's legacy is one full of love and an unwavering zest for life. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. May his memory bring comfort to those who loved him.
