Hilary Cope Obituary

Hilary Cope
Lexington - Hilary Anderson Cope, 49, of Lexington, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, August 2, 2022. She was born in Charleston, SC, on February 10, 1973.
Hilary was loved by all that knew her and developed a strong circle of friendships. She graduated from South Aiken High School. She went on to graduate from Clemson University in 1995 with a degree in Financial Management.
After graduation, she moved to Columbia, where she joined Shandon Baptist Church and met her future husband, Kyle. While she loved her career as both a state bank auditor and accountant at SC State Credit Union, she did not hesitate when the time came to leave that career and dedicate herself to raising her two boys.
She had many hobbies and interests, including gardening, board gaming with friends, cooking, and investing. She loved travelling, Chick-fil-A and most of all, going on missionary trips to Nicaragua.
Her love for taking care of babies led her and her husband to become foster parents. She was a wonderful friend who you instantly wanted to get to know better. Throughout her multiple battles with breast cancer, Hilary never complained about why things happened and continued to have confidence in her Lord.
Survivors include husband Kyle Edward Cope; children, Brandon Edward Cope, Bryan John Cope; parents, Dianne and John Anderson; sister, Heather Kimball (David); and nephew Scott Kimball.
The funeral service for Hilary will be held at 11 o'clock, on Saturday, August 6th, at Shandon Baptist Church, 5250 Forest Drive, Columbia, with the Rev. Edward Stewart officiating.
A burial, open to all, will follow at Woodridge Memorial Park, 138 Corley Mill Rd, Lexington.
The family will receive friends at 10 o'clock at Shandon Baptist, prior to the funeral.

To the family, my deepest sympathy to the young family she left behind , her siblings, parents, family and friends. As her neighbor, when she lived in Aiken, SC I remember a sweet young lady with huge potential. It was a privilege to have known Hillary for the time I did. Prayers to all for long happy loving memories.

Kyle, Brandon and Bryan and all the Family, My heart is with you In the loss of your precious Wife, Mother, and Daugher. Hilary really was a loving, caring person. I came to visit you here in Lexington soon after Brandon was born, as a welcome to new son from a group at SBC. It was apparent to me that you would be the best of parents. Being older as I am, I was not in your younger group, but watched as you married and became a wonderful family. Pam and I are grateful to have known Hilary. My prayers are with you and may God keep you.

I had the privilege to work with Hilary at our church's preschool a couple of years ago and I so loved the time we got to chat as we were rocking babies to sleep about all the Lord was doing in her life. She has such a sweet spirit and it was such a joy to hear about her faith journey, her love for her family, for the Lord and His people. Praying for peace and comfort from our Heavenly Father for your family <3

Kyle, it´s been quite a while since I´ve seen you and last year we moved our membership to Spring Valley Baptist, however I still remember your family with fondness. Hilary was a beautiful and special woman. We are very sad about her passing and the void it will leave. We are praying for you. God keep you in His care and loving embrace.

Hillary was the best and a friend to everyone that met her. She was very kind hearted and a joy to be around. I will miss going to get peaches with her every summer up at McBee. My prayers are with you Kyle, Brandon, and Bryan.
