George Lawton Raborn Sr.
AIKEN - Mr. George Lawton Raborn Sr., 92, went home to his Lord Jesus Christ on Wednesday December 6, 2023.
He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Virgina Taylor Raborn; parents, Claude E. and Fannie L. Raborn; and brothers, Earl Raborn and Lewis Raborn.
He is survived by his son, George L. (Lynn) Raborn Jr.; daughter, Janice (Buddy) Fincher; 6 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, and several great-great grandchildren.
Mr. Raborn was born in and a life long resident of Aiken County. He co-owned Custom Metal Fabricators, and after he retired, he went back home to follow his true passion of farming. He was a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church in Ridge Spring, S.C., where he served as a Deacon and in many other capacities including several committees. He was also a Freemason and member of Lodge 134 in Ridge Spring. George loved his family, his church, and his Lord Jesus Christ. He will be remembered for being a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, great-great grandfather, and friend.
A Funeral Service, celebrating his life, will be held at 11 A.M. on Saturday December 9, 2023, at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, 164 Mt Pleasant Rd, Ridge Spring, SC 29129, with Pastor Volley Gibs to officiate. The burial will follow immediately after at the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
Pallbearers will be Chris Fincher, Colby Roberts, Kenny Shelton, Brodie Cook, Donnie Raborn, and Travis Fincher.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations in Mr. Raborn's memory be made to the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery Fund.
