George Brown Obituary
SALLEY, SC - Bro. George R. Brown, 51, of 1127 South Dixie Road Salley, SC, entered into eternal rest Thursday, July 14, 2016 at Aiken Regional Medical Center.
Bro. George Brown was born in Aiken, SC on September 1, 1964 to the late George R. Brown and Essie Dunbar.
He was educated in the Aiken County Public Schools.
He was married to Aleta Brown for 32 years. In this union, two children were born.
He retired from DuPont, at Savannah River Plant, after working for over 15 years.
He also had a passion for playing basketball, completing projects, and helping those in need.
He was preceded in death by his great-grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. George R. Brown, his father, George R. Brown, his sister, Martha L. Brown, and his father-in-law, LD Scott.
Left to cherish his fond memories are his wife, Aleta Brown; children, Jamel (Yolanda) and Ramade (Cayce); two grandchildren, Ramade Adrian Brown, Jr. and Jalen George Brown; mother, Essie Dunbar; sisters, Evangelist Mary L. Brown, Sharon D. Dunbar, Jenny M. Dunbar, and Kim (Terri) Jackson; mother-in-law Louise Scott; and a host of other family and friends.
Family and friends may call the residence of George and Aleta Brown, 1127 South Dixie Rd, Salley, SC 29137, (803) 258-4090, (803) 653-1165.
The family will also receive friends at Tobin Funeral home, 106 Wagener Street Salley, SC, 29137 from 5-7pm on Thursday, July 21, 2016.
Funeral Services for George R. Brown will be held Friday, July 22, 2016 at 3:00 pm at the Church of Deliverance, 184 Mayapple Drive, Springfield, SC, 29146.

George Brown - To the person who introduced me to 88.3! I am a better christian for it. It took me a minute to adjust but it's actually #1 on my memory stations and I listen to it every morning on my way to work. My favorite "Dozens" sparring partner...and chauffeur.
Only Uncle George would exit this life in the midst of his favorite past time - a game of Basketball with the guys at the park... Laughing and having a better time than those of us who are still here. Continue to Rest in that same Peace of God.

Gee, I can't believe that you're gone! When my phone rang the other day, I saw the caller ID and there was excitement in my voice when I spoke and said, Hey Gee; but by heart became saddened when the voice on the other end said, this is not George, this is Leta, we just lost George! "Big Mama" as Gee affectionally called her was the voice on the other end speaking those words that we don't want to hear, a loved one has past. Leta, I thank you for calling me, I will truly miss Gee, his jokes, his smile! The picture that you have post truly captures how I will remember Gee! I will miss the WL's and the I'm Scared, but I will miss his smile most of all! My prayers will continue to be with the Brown family. Gee, WL says sleep on, rest in the arms of the Lord! You will be missed by all who knew you!
