Frances Burnham
AIKEN - Mrs. Frances Burnham, 100, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 9th, 2024, at Trinity on Laurens following an extended illness.
Mrs. Burnham was born Vernel Frances Frye in Vass, NC in February of 1924, a daughter of the late William Hollyfield and Pauline Dowdy Frye. She graduated from Vass-Lakeview High School in 1940 and married Bill Marshburn of Glendon, NC in 1941.
She and Bill moved to Aiken in 1949 with their two sons, Paul, born in 1946, and James, born in 1949, where they joined St. John's Methodist Church that year. She graduated from Palmer Business College in Augusta and retired in 1988 after working for the Aiken County Hospital for 31 years.
Bill passed away in 1982 and she married Jack Burnham, a retiree of the Atlanta Fire Department in 1985 and was married to him for 22 years until his passing in 2007.
Having lost her son Paul in 2004, she is survived by her son James and his family of Kennesaw, GA, and Paul's daughter Paula Massie and her family of Punta Gorda, FL.
Funeral services for Miss Burnham will take place on Friday, October the 11th, 2024, at 4:00 PM in the Historic George Funeral Home Downtown Chapel with Dr. Chris Masters officiating.
Interment will take place in Aiken Memorial Gardens.

Having lived a long life on this earth she has finally gone home to be with her Lord but will be missed greatly.
