Eva Jean Chandler
AIKEN, SC - Eva Jean Chandler, 82, widow of Robert Lee Chandler, died Friday, January 08, 2016 at Harbor Chase of Aiken.
Eva was born to Curtis Eugene and Eva Jewell Dyer on September 11, 1933 in Cedartown, GA. She was a devoted and loving Christian, wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. Eva was a long-time member of Aiken's First Baptist Church where she served in several capacities with long-time service in the church library and kitchen crew. She was a wonderful homemaker and worked late in her career for Pat Bailey's Business Accounting Services.
The family wishes to thank ResCare, Harbor Chase, and Tidewater Hospice for the wonderful care, comfort and love shown to Eva.
Survivors include three sons, Michael (Lori) Chandler, North Augusta, SC, Gregory (Kirsten) Chandler, Aiken, SC and Jeffrey (Desi) Chandler, Irvine, CA; four grandchildren, Rachel, Andrew, Marisol and Robert Michael; a brother, Rayford (Sarah) Dyer, Cedartown, GA. In addition to her parents, Eva was preceded in death by her husband Robert after 45 years of marriage and a sister, Myrna (Jerry) Knowles of Cedartown, GA.
The family will receive friends beginning at 10:00 AM Tuesday, January 12, and the funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM in the Shellhouse-Rivers Funeral Home chapel with the Reverend Dr. Fred W. Andrea, III officiating. Interment will follow in Southlawn Cemetery.
