Edwin Kirkpatrick "Kirk" Ashe, Jr.
BELVEDERE, SC - Mr. Edwin Kirkpatrick "Kirk" Ashe Jr., 61, entered into rest on Friday, March 31, 2017 at Augusta University Medical Center after a sudden illness. The funeral service for Mr. Ashe was held Wednesday, April 5, 2017 at Fairview Presbyterian Church, 1101 Carolina Avenue, North Augusta, SC at 11:00 AM with the Rev. Masaki Chiba officiating. The family received visitors in the church's Fellowship Hall. Internment was at Pineview Memorial Park on Five Notch Road in North Augusta. Rowland Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Ashe was born in Chester, SC on April 13, 1955, a son of the late Edwin Kirkpatrick Ashe, Sr. and the late Anita Kirby Ashe. Kirk was a lifelong member of Fairview Presbyterian Church. He grew up in North Augusta, graduating from North Augusta Senior High School in 1973. He graduated in 1980 from the University of South Carolina - Aiken with a bachelor's degree in Business Administration. He also attended Augusta Technical College. He worked for many local companies throughout his business career including Dayco (Williston, SC), Carolina Metals (Barnwell, SC), Kimberly Clark (Beech Island, SC), Greenfield Industries (Augusta, Ga), Solo/Dixie Cup (Augusta, Ga) J..C. Penny's (Augusta & Myrtle Beach) and contract work for the Department of Energy at the Savannah River Site (Aiken, SC). He most recently was working as a Journeyman Electrician for Savannah River Remediation. Kirk was a proud member of Local Union 1579 of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) in Augusta, GA. Kirk had a great sense of humor and loved to follow the University of South Carolina Fighting Gamecocks. He loved his family and was most proud of his three grandchildren.
Mr. Ashe is survived by a son, Colin Kirkpatrick Ashe (Megan Leigh Jamison Ashe) of Aiken. and a daughter Rebekah Macie Ashe of Augusta, GA. He also is survived by a stepson, Blake Pender and stepdaughter Kelly Petruska. Mr. Ashe is also survived by three beautiful Grandchildren: Jenna Renae Ashe, Weston Lane Ashe, and Alice Gabriella Webb. Mr. Ashe also is survived by three brothers: His twin - William Kirby Ashe, Sr.
(Dianne) of North Augusta SC, Charles Bradley Ashe (Angie) of Edgefield SC, and Bryan Douglas Ashe (Geri) also of North Augusta. He leaves behind many loving cousins, nephews, and nieces and many friends and coworkers. Pall bearers will be Will Ashe, Corey Ashe, Brandon Ashe Chris Ashe, David Ashe, and Craig Schlachter.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Fairview Presbyterian Church Memorial Fund.

'Ed' was always a welcome sight. His steady smile, good nature, and easygoing manor made him good company. He will be missed. Sympathies for Kirk, Kirby and all the Ashe family.
