Drayton Wyatt Mims
CLARKS HILL, SC - A Celebration of Life Service for Mr. Drayton Wyatt Mims, 21, husband of Meghan Prince Mims, will be held on Wednesday, January 20th, 2016, at 6 o'clock in the chapel of Hatcher Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Langley, SC, with Pastor Jerry Garvin officiating.
Born in Charleston, SC and a resident of the CSRA most of his life, he was a son of John Drury "Dru" and Holly Watts Mims, Aiken, SC. He was an Ironworker/Welder with the Iron Workers Local Union #709, Augusta, GA. Drayton was an avid outdoorsman.
He and Meghan enjoyed hunting and fishing together, especially striper fishing. He also enjoyed welding. More than anything, however, he enjoyed spending time with his boys, Caleb Wyatt, who is four, Forrest Lee, who is two and Jaxen Ray Mims, who is one.
In addition to his wife, parents and boys, family members include his siblings, John Drury "Dru" and Claire McLauren Mims, Aiken, SC; grandparents, Dr. William Walter "Walt" Mims, Orangeburg, SC, Joyce Skipper and her husband, Mickey, Murrells Inlet, SC; special uncle and aunt, Dr. Will and Ann Mims, Spartanburg, SC and cousins, Sawyer, Ben and Will Mims.
Please contact Meghan if you desire to make a memorial contribution. A fund will be set up to help with the education and needs of the boys.
The family will greet friends on Wednesday from 4 until 6 o'clock at the funeral home.
