AIKEN - Doris McCormick Chavis, 86, passed away on April 9, 2023. Private services was held on Tuesday, April 11, 2023. Burial was in Orangeburg, SC, at Memorial Park. Thompson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

I am so sorry to learn of the death of Doris McCormick Chavis, as I communicated with her, and purchased her book entitled, A HISTORY OF WILLIAM McCORMICK, DESCENDAN
TS OF OLD BARNWELL DISTRICT-1795-2005. May God richly bless her dear family, and be with them, wrapping His precious arms around them. I am so sorry for their loss.

So sorry to hear of Doris´s passing. She was very close to me and my sister. We would travel to Aiken to have a meal together and spend time with her after our cousin Mike (her husband) passed.
