Doris Louise Austin, was born on August 2, 1937 to William Henderson and Rosena Passley. She was raised in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. In 1956, Doris married Caesar Austin Sr. They began their family in Philadelphia. Doris was moved to dedicate her life to Jehovah God and symbolized her dedication and baptism in 1961. Not many years later, Cesar and Doris move to Edgefield, South Carolina to help people learn about the Bible and their loving heavenly father, Jehovah. Throughout 30+ years, she devoted countless hours as a full-time minister as one of Jehovah's Witnesses. During that time, she helped many get on the road to life! She also worked hard along with her husband, to care for their four children, even working outside the home at federal Pacific for some years and then regal factory.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Caesar Austin Sr., William Henderson (father), Rosena Passley (mother), Marlene Passley (sister), Billy Henderson and Donald Lewis (brothers). Doris is survived by one son Caesar (Carol) Austin Jr. of Columbia, SC; and three daughters: Renee Austin of Edgefield, SC; Shadell Plair of Greenwood, SC; and Shannon (Randy) Scarboro of Murrietta, CA. Three sisters: Grace (Artie) Sanders of GA, Darlene (Preston) Moody of PA, and Vanessa (Earl) Taylor of KY. One brother: Tyrone (Carol) Henderson of PA. Three grandchildren: Krystal Plair of Pineville, NC; Gavin Plair of Greenwood, SC; and Skylor (Elisha) Austin of Memphis, TN. Four great grandchildren: Jaedon Meehan, Khai Meehan, and Luke Austin, all of Memphis, TN; Adalyn Robertson of Greenwood, SC; and a host of nieces, nephews, and loving friends. Sis.
Doris Austin will be sorely missed by her family, the Edgefield Congregation, and all who knew her. The family would like to express their gratitude for the hard work and dedication of Encompass Hospice of Aiken.
