Denzel Bates Obituary
AIKEN, SC - Mr. Denzel DeMarcus Bates, age 21, of 113 Riviera Road, gained his wings, Wednesday, September 21, 2016.
He was the owner of Cutting Edge Lawn Maintenance. Denzel was a graduate of the Aiken County Public School System. He was a loving father, fiance', son, brother, and grandson. He was very family oriented.
Denzel leaves to cherish many memories: his loving parents, LaShunda Gilchrist and Paul Anthony Bates; his stepfather, Chancey Gilchrist; his fiance', Alexis Mance; his mother-in-law, Lisa Williams; his daughter, Kaliah Skye Bates; his son, Karter Denzel Bates; three sisters, Naima Gilchrist, Zenabia Gilchrist, Octavia Bates; four brothers, Chancey Levar Gilchrist Jr, Octavious Bates, Antwone Bates, Xavier Bates; his family on his mother's side, grandmother, Willie Lena Walker, great-grandmother, Thelma Steadman, grandfather, Luvern Geter (Barbara), great- grandmother, Martha Wright Geter, grandparents, Veron (Vanessa) Gilchrist, Pauline Harrison, family on his father's side, grandfather, Paul Henry Bates (Jeanette), great-grandmother, Annie Ruth Davis, great-grandmother, Barbara Jean Barr; Aunties, Tiffany Walker, Catasa Walker, Kristy Bates, Monique Lee, Rischica Dupree, Shakika Gilchrist, Rosemary Reed (Cleon), Lakesha Walker; Uncles, Veron Devon Gilchrist, Brian Finley (Stacie), Rico Ready, Clinton Bates, Tyrone Bates, Maurice Morrison, Donald Morrison, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other friends and relatives.
Funeral services will be held 1 PM Monday, September, 26, 2016 at New Beginnings Ministries, (Viewing 12-1 PM at church) 1601 Williston Rd, Beech Island, SC 29842. Burial will follow in Southlawn Cemetery.
