Linda Moore Obituary

Mrs. Linda Wilhelm Moore, 84, entered peacefully into eternal rest on Tuesday, December 23, 2025, surrounded by a lifetime of love and cherished memories. A devoted wife, mother, sister, and friend, Linda's life was a beautiful reflection of faith, family, and quiet joy. She was the beloved wife of Mr. Joe Thomas Moore and was preceded in death by her first husband, Alfred Daniel Wilhelm.
A graveside service celebrating Linda's life will be held on Tuesday, December 30, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Graniteville, South Carolina, with Dr. Harold Herd officiating.
Those who will forever treasure Linda's memory include her husband, Joe; her children, Dana Wilhelm Carpenter of Warrenville, South Carolina, Daryl Wilhelm (Jackie) of Beech Island, South Carolina, and Jody Charise Moore of North Palm Beach, Florida; her beloved sisters, Marion Fulmer (the late Rudy) of Clearwater, South Carolina, and Debra Strickland of Graniteville, South Carolina; a special cousin, Babs Swearingen of North Augusta, South Carolina; her grandchildren, Amanda Crawford and Jahiem Carpenter; and her cherished great-grandchild, Bentley Reese Mitchum.
Born in Langley, South Carolina, Linda was the daughter of the late John Pershing and Delores Beck Gordon. She was a proud graduate of Langley-Bath-Clearwater High School and the Richmond School of Cosmetology. Linda devoted many years of dedicated service as a payroll and benefits analyst with Avondale, where her reliability and attention to detail were greatly valued.
Linda's faith was a cornerstone of her life. She was a faithful and longtime member of Pine Grove Baptist Church in Bath, South Carolina, where she served as a former church clerk and was an active member of the Women's Missionary Union. Her commitment to her church family reflected her deep love for service and fellowship.
Known for her gentle spirit and warm smile, Linda was rarely seen without her beloved sisters, affectionately known as "The Gordon Girls." Whether attending church, enjoying shopping trips, traveling together, or spending treasured days at her favorite place, New Smyrna Beach, the sisters brought light, laughter, and kindness wherever they went.
Linda will be remembered for her loving heart, unwavering faith, and the joy she found in sharing life with those she loved. Her legacy lives on in the many lives she touched and the family she so dearly cherished.
