Lela Collins Hunt
Aiken - LELA COLLINS HUNT, 80, beloved wife of Ronald A. Hunt, passed away Sunday, January 9, 2022, at Aiken Regional Medical Centers.
Lela was born on March 15th, 1941 in Pahokee, FL. She was a daughter of the late Major David and Susie Hall Collins. Lela began her career as a certified medical technologist in Albany, GA. She met Ron in Orlando, FL. Once married, Ron and Lela have lived in Aiken since 1972. She retired from her career as a former teacher's aide in the 5th grade science lab at Aiken Elementary. She was a member of Millbrook Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Ron; her son, Brian A. Hunt (Emily), Lawrenceville, GA; her daughter, Elise J. Hunt, Aiken; three grandchildren, Gabriel R. Hunt, Cooper A. Hunt, Caylee A. Hunt; her sister, Dorothy Hodges (Charles), Screven, GA.
The family will receive friends Saturday afternoon, February 12th from 1 until 2 o'clock in the Millbrook Baptist Church Chapel on Pine Log Rd. The funeral service will follow at 2 o'clock with The Rev. Clint Smith officiating. Interment will be in Southlawn Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to St. Jude Children's Research Hospitals (stjude.org) or to Millbrook Baptist Church Building Fund.
