Frances Able Obituary

Mrs. Frances Elizabeth Able, 84, of Graniteville, SC, wife of fifty-nine years to Robert E. "Bob" Able, entered into rest on Friday, January 30, 2026, while in the comfort of her home.

Born in San Luis Obispo, CA, a daughter of the late Manuel and Mary Constance Martin Baptista, she was very proud of her Portuguese heritage.

Bob's military service took Frances to various places. They had lived in Norfolk, VA, before making Graniteville their home fifteen years ago.

Prior to her retirement, she had worked in customer service. She enjoyed fishing and ceramics. She also enjoyed decorating her home and was known for her delicious meals, especially Portuguese.

Along with her husband Bob, Frances is survived by siblings, Carl Baptista, Vera Baptista, and Wilhelmina Baptista, a dear friend whom she considered and loved like a grandchild, Emily Jeffcoat, Emily's children, Maisy Lane, Finn Lee, Halen Lauri and Grace Lilah and other extended family members and countless friends.

Friends will be greeted by the family on Monday, February 9, 2026, from noon until 1:30 at Hatcher Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 3464 Jefferson Davis Highway, Graniteville, SC. A graveside service will follow at 2 o'clock in the Historic Graniteville Cemetery, Graniteville, SC.
