Ervin Monroe Coffey
Aiken - Entered into rest Thursday, January 26, 2023 at his residence. Mr. Ervin Monroe Coffey,'s age 78, celebration of life service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Sunday January 29, 2023 at Bethel Baptist Church with Rev. Brancie Stephens and Rev. Glen Davis officiating. Interment will follow at Aiken Memorial Park.
He was the beloved husband of the late Jennie Funderburg Coffey. He was born in Murphy, NC to the late Mr. Uyless Coffey, and the late Mrs. Jessie Roach Coffey. He had made Aiken County his home for the past 50 years. Mr. Coffey retired after 42 years of service with Owens Corning Fiberglass, Aiken, as a production engineer. He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church where he was a former deacon and a member of the senior men's Sunday school class. He enjoyed a good game of golf, and was an avid hunter, fisherman, and he loved gardening. He also loved to camp and play the guitar.
Survivors include one son, Mark (Gail) Coffey, Woodbury, PA; one daughter, Cindy (Anthony) Lee, Aiken; one brother, John Robert "Bobby" Coffey, Aiken; three sisters, Priscilla "Teeny" Wright, Aiken, Eunice Reynolds, Vaucluse, Mary Ellen Jordon, Aiken; four grandchildren, Victoria (Josh) Shope, John Shope, Sydney Coffey, Evan Coffey; three great grandchildren, Kayden Shope, Beau-Monroe Zinkhan, and Lorelai Zinkhan. Mr. Coffey was predeceased by one brother, James Walter "Walt" Coffey, and one sister Patricia "Pat" Kitchens. Pallbearers will be Josh Zinkhan, Anthony Lee, Lee Benson, John Keith Wood, John Coffey, and Patrick Reynolds. Honorary pallbearers will be the senior men's Sunday school class of Bethel Baptist Church.
