Victoria Ciccone Obituary

Victoria Lucille Meccia Ciccone, 92, of Belmar passed away peacefully at home on May 25, 2025. Victoria was born in Newark, NJ, moved to Belleville where she was married and raised her 2 sons with Emidio, and spent summers in Belmar. She received her Bachelor's degree in Education from Kean College, taught at St. Mary's Elementary School in Nutley for 15 years, and then at Abington Avenue School in Newark for 11 years. After her retirement, she took up traveling with Emidio, friends and family, and became a full-time resident of Belmar. Victoria was an expert seamstress and tailor and possessed a keen sense of fashion and style. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, whether it was reading a book to Luke or pulling weeds with Nick and liked to read the (print edition) newspaper while having her morning coffee. For many years, she was known for her long walks with her sister Phyllis. Her favorite pastimes included sewing and knitting, gardening, cooking and shopping (especially with her daughter-in-law Jill and granddaughter Mia). Family was most important to Victoria, and she relished in passing down traditions including making Christmas knots with her granddaughter Lucy and making homemade manicotti and Italian cheesecake with Mia.
Victoria was predeceased by her parents, Christopher and Rose Landolfi Meccia; her husband of 56 years, Emidio; and siblings Carmine, Joseph, Nancy, Phyllis, Jane, Christopher, Matthew and Gerard. She is survived by her sons, Jeffrey (wife Dina) of Absecon, and Scott (wife Jill) of Lawrenceville and Belmar; grandchildren Nicholas, Mia, Lucy and Luke; and many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to call from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm Thursday, May 29, 2025, at Orender Family Home for Funerals, 2643 Old Bridge Rd, Manasquan, NJ. A mass of Christian Burial celebrating her vibrant life, with attendees encouraged to dress in colors opposed to black, will be at 10:30 am, Friday, May 30, 2025, at Church of St. Rose, Belmar followed by burial in St. Anne's Cemetery, Wall. Flowers are welcomed and encouraged. Donations for causes supporting veterans are also appreciated.
