Shirley Marie DeSantis Obituary

Shirley Ann Marie DeSantis (Rovnak), 80, passed away peacefully on August 24, 2025, in Surfside Beach, South Carolina. Born on June 4, 1945, in Youngstown, Ohio, she lived a full and meaningful life marked by devotion and dedication to her family.
Shirley was the beloved wife of the late John J. DeSantis. Their bond endures beyond this life, as Shirley now joins John in God's kingdom-together again.
A loving mother, Shirley is remembered with deep affection by her children: Deborah DeSantis (Joe), Gina Whritenour (David), and John DeSantis (Laura). She was a proud grandmother to Joseph, Lizlynn, Kendall, Nadine, and Allan, and cherished her
role as great-grandmother to little Shirley. Her nurturing spirit and unwavering support left a lasting impression on each generation of her family.
Shirley is survived by four sisters and one brother. She is preceeded in death by her parents, the late John Rovnak and Elizabeth Vodilko Rovnak, 5 brothers, and 4 sisters.
Professionally, Shirley worked as a real estate agent and took pride in guiding people through important milestones in their lives.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00 AM, Friday, August 29, 2025 at St. Michael Catholic Church. The burial will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery.
