Robert Sauer Obituary

Robert Lee "Bob" Sauer, age 77, passed away Monday, June 9, 2025, at Tidelands Waccamaw
Memorial Hospital.
Mr. Sauer was born in Baltimore, MD on January 14, 1948, the son of Raymond Sauer and
Beatrice Stewart Sauer. He was a member of Shepherd of the Sea Lutheran Church in Murrells
Inlet, SC for more than 25 years. He was also a member of the Sons of the American Legion Post
178, the Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge 2351 and an auxiliary member of the Veterans of
Foreign Wars Post 10420. He enjoyed golfing and traveling, having visited Hawaii, Europe, and
the Caribbean Islands. Prior to retirement, he worked for Giant Foods of Landover for more
than 31 years.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Sauer was predeceased by his brother William. He is survived by
his wife Lorie Sauer; three sons Robert, Michael and Brian; eight grandchildren Megan, Morgan,
Madison, Lexi, Aubrey, Matthew, Andrew, and Jackson.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 5, 2025, at 2pm at Shepherd of the Sea Lutheran
Church. The family will receive friends after the funeral at the church. Private internment will
be in Baltimore, MD at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Veterans
of Foreign Wars, Post 10420, 4359 U.S. Highway 17 Business, Murrells Inlet, SC 29576.
