Lynn Roberts Obituary

Surrounded by loved ones, Lynn Koon Roberts passed away peacefully on March 21, 2026 after a courageous battle with cancer, entering Heaven's gates with grace and strength.

Ms. Roberts was preceded in death by her parents, Alton Leon Koon, Sr. and Doris Faulkenberry Koon, and her brother, Irby. She was a graduate of Aynor High School and Winthrop University and dedicated her life to education. As a gifted and talented teacher in Horry County School's "Pelican" program, she inspired countless students with her passion, creativity, and unwavering inspiration.

She found great joy in crafting-an art inspired by her mother's talents-gardening, and caring for her immaculate yard. In her younger years, she cherished time spent with family at the beach and later found peace and relaxation in the mountains of North Carolina.

She is survived by her two loving sons, Jonathan (Ashley) and Josh (Katherine); her sisters, Marian and Nancy; her brother, Alton; her beloved friend, Frenchie Carter; and the true lights of her life, her grandchildren, Dylan, Berkeley, and Hayes. Being "Nana" to her grandchildren was her greatest joy. She was endlessly proud of each of them and supported them with boundless love and encouragement.

The family would like to thank Ms. Lynn's amazing caregivers, especially Gayle Fanshaw and the staff at Gentiva Hospice.

In lieu of flowers, Ms. Roberts requested that donations be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 6704, Hagerstown, MD 21741 or to the Salvation Army, 1413 2nd Ave, Conway, SC 29526.

A private family celebration of life will be held at a later date.
