James Bobst Obituary

James Walter Bobst Jr, 64, passed away Thursday, August 28, 2025 at Conway Medical Center. He was born March 1, 1961 in Palm Beach County, Florida, a son of the late James Walter Bobst Sr. and Alma Sweat Meeks.

He was also predeceased by his wife, Patricia Bobst; three brothers, Nelson Bobst, Dale Meeks and Jody Allen Meeks.

James was a loving husband, brother, friend, uncle and stepfather. He enjoyed being on the outdoors, sitting by the fire, with his family. He also enjoyed watching star wars movies and fishing.

Mr. Bobst is survived by his stepchildren, Tony Herdman, David Haynes and Ginger Herdman; his brother, Ricky Bobst of Aynor; his sisters, Jean Merklinger (Ricky) of Texas and April Meeks of Conway, SC; his girlfriend of several years, Rachel Long; several nieces and nephews and many other family and friends, who loved him dearly and will miss him very much.

There will be no services held at this time.

James was a good friend. Known the family. Went to school with all James brothers and sisters. He stayed with me and 2 of my girls and helped me with them when their dad wasn't there to help. Yall will be in my prayers. Remember yall have another guardian angel watching over yall and remember all the memories.
