Franklin Branton Obituary

Franklin Leamon Branton, 89, passed away Monday, June 16, 2025 at home with family and friends. He was born June 23, 1935, a son of the late Thomas Leamon Branton and Kittie Bell Norman Branton. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers, Rembert, Waldon and Jerry Branton; his sisters, Emmaline McDonald, Wionna Benton and Doris Todd. Franklin was a loving father, brother, grandfather and friend. He loved the Lord and his country. He was a US Air Force Veteran, who earned the National Defense Medal and Good Conduct Medal. He worked at AVX for thirty-five years, where he was an ERT Fireman Assistant Chief and member of the Infirmary Emissary of AVX Medical Department. After retiring, he worked with Horry County Meals on Wheels. Mr. Branton is survived by his wife of fifty-five years, Linda Boyd Branton; three daughters, Suzanne Lynn Dyson, Amy Irene Rabon (Benny) and Melinda Jill Branton; brother, Timmy Branton (Johnnie); six grandchildren, Lyndsey and Madyson Dyson, Elliott Yarbrough, Josh, Ryanna and Landon Rabon; his loving dog, Danny Boy and many other family and friends who will miss him. A Memorial Service will be held 11:00 am Friday, June 20, 2025 at Watson Funeral Services Chapel. The family will receive friends from 10:00 am until 10:45am before the service at the funeral home. The family would like to give a special thank you to Agape Care, Angie Newman and good friend and neighbor, Buddy Edge for all the love, compassion and support.
