Ronald Walker Obituary

Ron Walker, 77, passed away peacefully on March 12, 2026. Born on March 25, 1948, Ron lived a full and faith filled life marked by love, generosity, humor, and devotion to his family. A proud Christian and follower of Jesus, Ron carried his faith with a quiet strength that guided his steps and shaped the way he loved those around him.

Ron was a loving husband, a dedicated father, and a man who never met a stranger. His beloved wife, Wanda Walker, was his partner in every sense, his greatest blessing and his steady companion through every season of life.

A natural provider and nurturer, Ron was known as a chef-to-all. Everyone agrees Ron's love language was food. Whether cooking for family gatherings, holidays, church and work events, or for anyone who happened to stop by (even unannounced), Ron's kitchen was always open, his table always full, and no one ever left hungry.

Ron was also an avid fisherman, happiest with a rod in his hand and the peaceful rhythm of the water around him. He shared this love with his children and grandchildren, creating memories that will live on for generations.

Those who knew Ron best will fondly remember his good natured teasing. Ron had a talent for giving his family a hard time in the most loving way-his trademark humor that brought laughter, eye rolls, and countless cherished stories.

Ron is survived by his beloved wife Wanda Walker, and a large and loving family who affectionately knew him as "Papa." Daughters, Rhonda Motsinger (Paul), Tara Baab (Ben), son, Ronnie Walker (Jill); siblings, Larry Walker (Cheryl), Darrell Gomes (Becky), sister-in-law, Connie Walker; grandchildren, Katlyn Pace (Zach), Karleigh Motsinger, Clayton Motsinger (Abigail), Ethan Baab, Ella Baab, Beck Baab; and great-grandchildren, James Pace, Lucy Pace, Walker Motsinger

Ron was preceded in death by his parents, known lovingly as Dorothy "Dee" Gomes and RJ Walker.

Ron Walker leaves behind a family who adored him and a legacy rich with love, laughter, and faith. His presence will be deeply missed, yet the stories he told, the meals he cooked, the wisdom he shared, and the joy he brought will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew him.

A visitation will be held Sunday, March 22, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. until 1:45 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Homes, Downtown, followed by the funeral service at 2:00 p.m.
