Katherine Hoover Obituary

Katherine Feindel Hoover, a devoted mother, community advocate, and creative spirit, passed away surrounded by the love of family and friends. Born in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, Katherine grew up with a natural curiosity and warmth that would later define both her professional life and her deep commitment to her community.

She attended Stone Mountain High School in Atlanta, Georgia, and went on to graduate from the University of Georgia with a degree in journalism. Katherine built a successful career in marketing, dedicating many years to children's marketing with McDonald's, where she helped develop engaging programs for families and coordinated regional Ronald McDonald initiatives. An entrepreneur at heart, Katherine later founded and operated Hoover Event Marketing.

Katherine's impact extended far beyond her professional accomplishments. She was an active member of the Junior League and a passionate advocate for children and families. She played a pivotal role in helping bring The Children's Museum of the Upstate, from vision to reality, leaving a lasting legacy for generations of young learners. She also served on the board of the Ronald McDonald House and was involved in numerous civic organizations, church functions, and volunteer work within schools, always driven by her love for her community and her chosen city of Greenville, SC.

While Katherine accomplished much professionally and philanthropically, her greatest joy and proudest role was being a mother to her four children. She poured her heart into nurturing each child's unique gifts and passions, always encouraging them to grow into the best versions of themselves. Katherine had a gift for turning life's moments-big and small-into celebrations, making every milestone for family and friends feel meaningful.

She will be remembered for her vibrant spirit, her fun-loving nature, and her servant's heart. Katherine had a remarkable ability to bring people together, spread joy, and make those around her feel deeply loved.

Katherine is survived by her husband, Steve Hoover; her children, Mary Allison Bertling (Ryan), Alex Hoover, Camille Hoover, and Zachary Hoover; and her beloved grandchild, Owen Bertling. She is also survived by her mother, Marie McIntyre; her stepmother, Susan Feindel; her brother, Richard Feindel Jr. (Gretchen) and their daughter, Stella; and her sister, Elizabeth Feindel (Charlie).

She was preceded in death by her father, Richard Feindel Sr., and her stepfather, John Gambs.

A memorial service for Katherine will be held on Tuesday, March 17, 2026 at 2:00 pm in the Sanctuary of Christ Church Episcopal, Greenville.

Her legacy lives on in her family, friends, and in the countless lives she touched through her work and service. Katherine Feindel Hoover will be dearly missed and forever remembered.
