Jeanette Caldwell Obituary

Jeanette Bogan Caldwell, age 91, widow of William Auten Caldwell, passed away peacefully at her home on March 19, 2026, leaving behind a life filled with love, friendship and joy. She was surrounded by her two surviving children by her side.

Born and raised in Charlotte, she carried her warmth and kindness throughout her life. In 1956, she married the love of her life, William Caldwell, and together they built a beautiful family. She lovingly supported him during his years at the University of North Carolina and later while he served in the Navy, laying the foundation for a life centered on dedication and partnership.

She was a devoted mother of three children, a proud grandmother to six, and a cherished great-grandmother. Her family was her greatest joy, and she created a home filled with love, laughter, and unforgettable memories.

She had a passion for tennis and was an exceptional player. She competed on multiple teams and celebrated many league championships over the years. The friendships she formed through tennis and throughout her life spanned across many states. She had a gift for connecting with people, and she was truly loved by all who knew her.

She was also a wonderful cook and a gracious entertainer, always bringing friends and family around her table. She had a remarkable talent for interior decorating and took great joy in creating a warm, beautiful home.

Above all, she will be remembered for her kindness, her vibrant personality, her beautiful smile and the deep love she gave so freely. She touched countless lives and will be missed beyond words.

While her absence leaves a profound void, her family finds comfort in knowing she is now at peace.

She is survived by her son, William Scott Caldwell of Greer; daughter, Linda Caldwell Holt (Braz) of Austin, Texas; six grandchildren, Joshua Martin, Jessica Martin, William Tyler Caldwell (Danielle), Dylan Caldwell (Laura), Will Holt and Clay Holt; and three great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her husband, William Auten Caldwell, parents, Clarence M. Bogan and Christine Patton Bogan, brother, Donald Bogan, sister, Betty Dorsey, and daughter, Jody Martin Smith.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date with the location to be announced.
