It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Christopher Brice Bailey, 49, on Tuesday, March 17, 2026. Chris was a loving and devoted husband, son, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend.
Chris was born on August 10, 1976, in
Greenville, South Carolina to Carolyn Richards and the late Charles Bailey. He called
Greer, South Carolina, home, where he shared countless cherished moments and adventures with his family and friends.
His life was built around the things he loved - his wife, Sarah, who stood proudly by him through all walks of life; his boys, Thomas and Connor, who absorbed his experience and life lessons, his loyal dogs who brought joy and companionship; and his beloved extended family and friends. It was no secret that Chris loved the water. He found peace and happiness on the ocean, the lake, or standing on a dock with a fishing pole in his hand. He had a passion for cars, trucks, boats, and anything with an engine, especially if it could move fast.
An avid "fixer of things", Chris took pride in repairing anything that was broken, always ready to lend a hand, for no problem was too big or too difficult for him. No one ever knew where his innumerable skills and knowledge came from, but he always had an answer for everything, and more often than not, he was right. Chris's path into the insurance industry was one of family legacy and pride. It was his grandfather who first planted the seeds, founding Heaton Insurance Agency and building it into a cornerstone of the family. Chris's father carried that tradition forward, and it was through watching and learning from the men he admired most that Chris found his own calling in the industry. That foundation of family, trust, and dedication to others would shape everything that followed. Chris thrived in his personal career, dedicating over 35 years to sales and sales leadership in the insurance industry. He dedicated the last years of his career to being a mentor, motivating and driving his coworkers to not just reach their goals, but to exceed their own expectations of themselves.
Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Sarah Bailey; his two sons, Thomas and Connor; his mother and step-father, Carolyn and Ron Richards; brother, Curtis Bailey (Brittany); sister, Carrie Hughes (Jacob); two step-sisters, Dedie Sciarrino and Tiffanie Von Ausdoll (Don); as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins who will carry on his spirit.
Chris was preceded in death by his father, Charles Bailey, Jr.; paternal grandparents, Margaret and Harold Bailey; and maternal grandparents, Kathleen and Warren Heaton.

MD Anderson Cancer Center located in Houston, Texas, to help others receive the same care.
