Christine Price Obituary
Christine Horton Price-Paris, 83, a resident of Rochester, NY and native of Jesup, Ga. passed away on October 11, 2025 at Highland Hospital in Rochester, NY. She was born on December 25, 1941 to the late, Charlie W. and Ora Bell Moody- Horton in Jesup, Ga. She was the fourth of twelve children born to that union and was educated in the Wayne County Training School where she was active in several extracurricular activities such as the band, playing multiple instruments being a member of the marching band. Upon graduating from high school she relocated to Rochester, NY to live with her aunt, Hester Straughter where she met and married Bernard Price. To this union two children were born, Bernie and Wade Price.
While living in Rochester, she became a member of Aenon Missionary Baptist Church where she actively participated in Sunday School, Bible Study, served on the Usher Board, the Missionary Board, Kitchen Committee and was a member of the church bowling league. Her employable years were spent working as security at Xerox, at Eastman Kodak where she retired from after (25) years of service and as a beautician. In her free time, she would spend it at the Y, walking and exercising. She was a pleasant and loving individual and would go out of her way to help anyone in need.
Christine was preceded in death by both parents, Ora Bell and Charlie Horton, her sisters, Vernelle Chestnut and Claudinnia Darby and a brother, Charlie Horton, Jr.
Those left to cherish her memory: her two sons, Bernie Price, League City, Tx. and Wade (Terry) Price, Jacksonville, Fl.: (8) grandchildren and (5) great grandchildren; her siblings, Cora Barnard, Miami, Fl., John Horton, Rochester, NY, Shirley Horton, Jacksonville, Fl., Roslyn D. (James) Morrison, Rochester, NY, Dorothy Johnson, Hinesville, Ga., Edward (Angelia) Horton, Brunswick, Ga., Gail Foster, Yurika Smith and Faye (Demetrice) Paschal, all of Jesup, Ga. and Laura Horton Elliott, Jacksonville, Fl. and a host of nieces, nephews, cousin, her church family and friends who will miss her immensely.
There will be a viewing held at Royal Funeral Home Chapel, 247 W. Pine Street, Jesup, Ga. on Friday, October 31, 2025 from 4-6 pm. Remains will lie in state at the church (1) hour prior to services on Saturday.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 01, 2025 @ 11:00 am at Empowerment City Church (formerly Gilead) located at 675 S 3rd Street, Jesup, Ga.31545. Interment in Sunset Oaks Memorial Cemetery, Jesup, Ga.
