Riley Ashmore Obituary

Alvin Riley Ashmore, 87, beloved husband of Linda Ashmore, went home to be with his Lord on Sunday, March 29, 2026.

Born in Greenville, South Carolina, he was the son of the late Earl Ashmore and Ida Lee Ashmore.

Riley was a devoted member of First Baptist Church of Conestee, where his faith was an important part of his life. He was an avid fisherman who found great joy in time spent outdoors, but above all, he cherished the moments he shared with his family.

Known for his warm and welcoming spirit, Riley never met a stranger. He was a man of strong character, deep faith, and unwavering family values.

Riley was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his daughters, Betty Beasley (Randy), Gloria Stamps (Rodney), and Melinda Kuykendall (Lynn); grandchildren, Lydia Morris (Adam), Jonathan Matthews, and Christina Stamps; great grandchildren, Vincent Morris and Victoria Morris; and caregivers, Katie Allgood and Simonita Hernandez.

In addition to his parents, Riley was preceded in death by brother, William Ashmore; sister, Mary Alice Butler; and brother, Jack Ashmore.

A visitation will be held Monday, April 06, 2026, from 11:30 a.m. until 12:45 p.m. at First Baptist Church Conestee, with the funeral service to follow at 1:00 p.m. Burial will be held in Greenville Memorial Gardens.

Friends are encouraged to share their favorite memories of Alvin with the family by clicking on either the "Share a Memory" footer or the word "Tributes" in the dropdown menu.
