Bonnie Chiles Obituary

Bonnie Harris Chiles, 78, of Greenville, South Carolina, went peacefully into the arms of Jesus on October 30, 2025. Born in Marion County, North Carolina, on December 1, 1946, she was a daughter of the late Woodrow Wilson Harris and Jeanette Spratt Harris. Bonnie was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose gentle spirit and servant's heart touched everyone she met. She was married for 58 years to her beloved husband, Donald S. Chiles. She is survived by her children, Amy Chiles, Matthew Chiles (Ellen), and Russell Chiles (Colleen)' grandchildren, Abby Bagley (Andrew), Emily Ford (Tyler), Beau Bridgers, Walker Chiles, Belle Chiles, Blaire Chiles, and Nolan Chiles; and great-grandson, Jaxon Ford. She is also survived by her sisters, Mary Jo Plemmons (Bob), Nancy Turbyfill (Press), and Alice Rhinehardt (Eddie, deceased). A longtime member of Simpsonville First Baptist Church, Bonnie lived out her faith daily through service. Among other activities, she taught Sunday School, helped prepare bereavement meals, participated in the Senior Saints ministry, and delivered Meals on Wheels to those in need. A dedicated homemaker, Bonnie was known for her warm smile, her laugh, and her quick sense of humor. She loved traveling, playing cards with close friends, cooking, and spending time with the people she loved most. A funeral service will be held Monday, November 3, 2025, at Simpsonville First Baptist Church Chapel, beginning at 5 pm with visitation to follow. Her legacy of love, faith, and service will continue to bless all who knew her. Memorials may be made to Grace Community Church, 5182 US-70, Marion, NC 28752 or FBS Upstate Church, 3 Hedge St. Simpsonville, SC 29681.
