Vertrella Brown Obituary

Vertrella Elizabeth Gibbs Brown died on April 16, 2020 at Tidelands Waccamaw Community Hospital, Murrells Inlet, SC. Funeral services were held on April 23, 2020 at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church, Rev. Mitchell Adger, pastor. Mrs. Brown was born on April 10, 1959 in Georgetown, SC, a daughter of Mr. Henry Gibbs, Jr. and Mrs. Marie Beese Gibbs. She was educated in the public schools of Georgetown County, where she attended Howard High School. For many years of giving exemplary service, she was an outstanding cook with the Sea View Inn in Pawleys Island, SC. Vertrella was united in marriage to Mr. Paul Brown until his demise. Surviving are her children, Dexter Brown, Paula Brown, Renita Brown, and Tiffany Brown, all of Pawleys Island, SC, and Crystal Williams (Carnel), of Myrtle Beach, SC; four granddaughters; eight grandsons; her sister, Wanda Myers (Melvin), of Murrells Inlet, SC; her brothers, Lorenzo Gibbs (Lucinda), John Gibbs, (Eliza), Jimmy Sherman (Sandra), and Floyd Gibbs, all of Pawleys Island, SC, and Joseph Gibbs of Columbia, SC. Services entrusted to Wilds Funeral Home, LLC.
