Rosemary Freudenthal, 87, of Rock Hill, South Carolina, passed away peacefully on
November 29, 2025 at Helena Square retirement community in Port Royal, S.C. A
devoted wife, mother, family and community member and friend, Rosemary will be
remembered for her enduring strength, quiet grace, and the steadfast love she shared
with all who knew her.
Born on April 7, 1938, in
Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Rosemary was the daughter of Frances
and George Beck. She spent many years in Milwaukee, where she grew up surrounded
by family and community. A proud graduate of Rufus King High School, class of 1956,
Rosemary carried with her a lifelong commitment to hard work and integrity.
On June 15, 1957, Rosemary married the love of her life, Jon Freudenthal. Together they
built a family grounded in love, kindness, and respect. Their marriage was a partnership
that spanned 66 years filled with laughter, perseverance, and shared dreams. Rosemary
and Jon's union was blessed with three daughters-Linda, Barbara and Vicki - each of
whom brought her great pride and joy.
Rosemary's life revolved around her husband and family, she was the quintessential
homemaker and mother but also enjoyed a fulfilling career life. While raising small
children and Jon continued his education, Rosemary worked 3rd shift on the assembly
line at Square D Corporation manufacturing circuit breakers and was also a proud and
very successful Tupperware sales representative. She served as Director of Blood
Services for the
American Red Cross of Northern South Carolina in Rock Hill, S.C. and
dedicated many years to Piedmont/American Airlines before retiring in 1993.
Rosemary, Jon and the girls moved to Rock Hill, South Carolina in 1972 and began
enjoying all things southern but did remain lifelong Green Bay Packer fans and
stockholders. Rosemary and Jon traveled extensively after the children were grown and
collected memories from around the world. In her quiet time, she had quite a talent for
cross stitch and created many beautiful works. In her later years, Rosemary's greatest
happiness came from time spent with Jon and her family, whether at the beach
(
Garden City, SC) or in the mountains (
Deep Gap, NC) being together was always
enough. Though she rarely sought the spotlight, her quiet presence was a source of
comfort and strength to all who loved her.
Rosemary was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jon, and her parents,
Frances and George Beck and her dear in-laws, Herman and Elizabeth Freudenthal, as
well as, brothers Walter Beck and George Beck III and sister Shirley Spangenburg and
brother in law Philip Freudenthal. She is survived by her daughters, Linda Okey (William),
Barbara Gephart (Jeff) and Vicki Stewart (Bob), grandchildren Chip Blackwell (Amber),
Allyson Tejeda (Alex), Heather Baird, Amanda White (Kyle), TJ Gephart (Rebecca), Brian
Gephart, Michael Gephart (Felica), Summersby Okey-Hamrick (Jordan), Sawyer Okey
(McKenna) and Sam Okey, and great-grandchildren Jonathon Blackwell, Ava, Aubrey
and Joel Tejeda; Joshua and Rachel Baird, Gavin and Kylee Blackwell, Wren and Conor
Hamrick, Gracie Beck and Parker Gephart, and Lucas and Lee White who will cherish her
legacy of love, compassion and kindness always.

endures beyond a lifetime.
