Rodney Cannon Obituary

Rodney Dale Cannon, 61, departed this life, Thursday, September 21, 2017 at McLeod Hospice House.

Mr. Cannon was born the son of Wendell "WJ" Cannon and Rachel Althea Cox Cannon Moree on April 14, 1956 in Williamsburg County. He was a 1979 graduate of Clemson University. He was the owner of Country Boys Barbeque. He also worked with wildlife control and spent time rehabilitating animals. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and donating his time to the Methodist Camps in Greenville, SC. His greatest love and enjoyment was pulling for and attending Clemson football games. He loved to tailgate and cook barbeque for everyone.

He leaves behind: three children, Shanna Hicks, Paul Jackson (Katie) Cannon and Blaine Marlee (Larry) Downing; five grandchildren, Bristol, Kale, Piper, Tana, and a soon to be grandchild. He also leaves behind a sister, Camellia Ann Moree; an aunt, Carol McKenzie; a niece, Regina Martin; and a number of cousins.

He was predeceased by: his parents; and his stepfather, Robert James "Bob" Moree

Funeral Service will be 3PM, Sunday, September 24, 2017 at The Christian Fortress directed by McKenzie Funeral Home. Officiating will be Pastor Geraldine Bednego and Rev. Jerry Cox.

The Cannon family will receive family and friends prior to the service from 2-3PM in the church sanctuary.

McKenzie Funeral Home is honored to serve the Cannon family.

Is this Rodney that had an Uncle that worked in a hotel in Myrtle Beach in the 70s I think his name was Mr Cox. I meet Rodney there and we were friends for a while and I thought I would look him up and found this. :-(

I am so sorry to hear that Rodney passed. We were in Clemson together a very long time ago. I send prayers of peace for Rodney and his family.
