Patricia Holmes Obituary

Patricia Caines Holmes, 70, a beloved mother and wife of Eddie L. Holmes, went home to be with the Lord, Tuesday, September 7, 2021 at Tidelands Georgetown Memorial Hospital.

Mrs. Holmes was born the daughter of Joseph Jenkins Hucks Caines, Jr. and Jannie Veona Rourk Caines on January 12, 1951 in Georgetown. She was a 1970 graduate of Winyah High School and received numerous certifications from GCSD. She was a Data Quality/Clerical Assistant with the Georgetown County School District since March 26, 1985 and was a former recipient of the Support Staff of the Year Award. She was a lifelong member of Georgetown Pentecostal Holiness Church where she faithfully served in the many positions including but not limited to the Christian Education Department; Church Media and Sound Technician; Teacher in the Play School, Children's Church, and Nursery; and was an Adult Choir Member. She loved to sing and was part several musical organizations including The Singing Christmas Tree at the Frist Baptist Church and was a dedicated charter member and was on the Board of Directors for C4 - the Carolina's Coastal Campmeeting Choir. Patricia was a gifted and skilled organizer who wore many hats and accomplished her tasks with excellence. With pride and honor, she wore the hats of: a devoted wife; loving mother and grandmother; cherished sister and friend; a trusted advisor and teacher; a humble servant, worker, and member; and a loyal sister in Christ. As written in Proverbs 31:29, "Many women do noble things, but you surpass them all."

Patricia and Eddie were married on February 27, 1971 and shared 50 years together. Their home was blessed with: two children, Scott Wendell Holmes and Wendy Loraine H. Shannon (Bill); and two grandchildren, Trace Hunter Shannon and Noah Neethi Shannon. She is also survived by: a brother, Jerry Wayne Caines; her extended family, Beverly Britt (Doug) and Peggy Goins (Tony); and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by: her parents; her siblings, Joseph Jenkins Hucks Caines, III, Harrell Bell Caines, Carol Jean Caines Payton (Daniel), William "Billy" Hucks Caines and Roy Brooks Caines; and her In-Laws, Mr. & Mrs. Leland Homes (Leona).

A Home Going Celebration will be 2PM, Saturday, September 11, 2021 at Georgetown Pentecostal Holiness Church. Officiating will be Pastor Greg Thompson, Rev. Clyde Glover, and Rev. Timothy McKenzie. Entombment directed by the Georgetown Chapel of McKenzie Funeral Home will follow in the Pennyroyal Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.

The Holmes family will receive family and friends 6-8PM, Friday evening, September 10, 2021 in the sanctuary of Georgetown PH Church.
