Pasquale Aveni Obituary

Pasquale "Pat" Aveni, 81, of Beaufort, South Carolina passed away peacefully on February 1, 2026. Pat was born on December 29, 1944, in New Haven, Connecticut, to Anthony and Frances (Cremonie) Aveni.

Pat built a life with his high school sweetheart Patricia Dechello, marrying in 1966. He was a loving father to his two daughters, Donna and Karen. He proudly served in the United States Marine Corps before starting a long and successful career as a plumbing contractor. He was most successful in life as a husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather as his family's cheerleader, confidant, advisor, and master of all cooking questions. He had a deep love for cooking and sharing meals with others, a passion that led him to own and operate a couple of restaurants over the years. In his free time, he found joy in building and collecting model trains, a hobby that reflected both his patience and creativity. He also enjoyed golf and cross-country skiing in his younger years. Of all his adventures, nothing compared to taking his best girl down to Turk's at Saven Rock for a basket of fried clams.

While there is much to say about this wonderful man, he had a rare gift for making everyone feel welcome and leaving those he encountered with a smile. His presence will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate enough to know him. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Patricia Ann (Dechello) Aveni; his brother Anthony F. Aveni (Lorraine); his daughters Donna Stafford (Joe) and Karen Reed (Dave); his grandchildren Andy Pine (Victoria), Katie Legree (Thyrik), and Anthony Pine (Tina); his great grandchildren Ayden, Eddie, Joey, Eliza, Jo, Leila, and Mai; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A small memorial service will be held on February 5, 2026 at 6:00pm at Praise Assembly, 800 Parris Island Gateway, Beaufort, SC 29906.
