Madeline Penevolpe Obituary

Madeline Ann Sosnowski Penevolpe, beloved wife, aunt, and neighbor, peacefully

passed away on January 3, 2026 at the age of 84.

She was the daughter of the late Paul and Gertrude Sosnowski. Born in Jersey City,

New Jersey, Madeline spent her last 25 years in Georgetown, SC in her beloved

DeBordieu neighborhood where she treasured her daily walks to the beach. She had a

deep love for nature and enjoyed seeing the coastal birds, foxes, and sea turtles in her

daily strolls. Her neighbors in DeBordieu often stopped to talk to Madeline, or offer her a

ride home as she made her way along many of the streets and pathways there.

Madeline was a proud graduate of Fairleigh Dickinson University receiving both her

undergraduate and M.B.A. graduate degree there. Much of her adult life was spent as a

pioneer working in computers and Mainframe Technology. She was a valuable

asset to many companies and trained others to understand this new technology. She

worked for Forbes International in New York City and had many conversations with

Malco Forbes, even meeting a young Donald Trump who visited the Forbes offices.

Madeline traveled throughout the United States and Europe to see many of the beautiful

cities and landmarks there. She enjoyed living in Long Beach, NJ with her husband.

She often shared that some of her fondest memories were about spending time on the

water boating with her husband Ralph.

Her interests included painting with other watercolor artists, playing Mah Jong, being a

classroom volunteer at Waccamaw Elementary, and going to the gym in Pawleys Island.

Madeline was predeceased by her parents, a brother, Paul Sosnowski, and her

husband, Ralph Penevolpe.

A funeral Mass will be held at Precious Blood of Christ Catholic Church on Thursday,

January 15, 2026, at 10:00 am. A reception to honor Madeline will be held at a later

date.
