Lee Piepenbring Obituary

The family of Lee Piepenbring announces with great sorrow the sudden loss of our dear wife, mother, sister, and aunt, on Monday, June 18th, 2018, at Debordieu, SC. Lee was born on September 24th, 1957 in Columbia, SC. She was the daughter of the late Madeleine Elizabeth Jennings Caughman and the late James Bankston Caughman. She was the wife of Dr. Michael Eugene Piepenbring, her beloved husband of 33 years, and the mother of her precious sons William Russell Piepenbring and Matthew Corbin Piepenbring.

Lee was a 1978 graduate of the University of South Carolina and a member of the Tri-Delta sorority. After earning her degree in accounting and becoming a Certified Public Accountant, she worked for many years at an accounting firm in Pawleys Island, SC. Lee was a devoted member of her community, generously volunteering her time and talents with Miss Ruby's Kids, Georgetown Presbyterian Church, and the Debordieu Community Association. She loved to sing, and for years was a member of the choir at Georgetown Presbyterian, as well as the Indigo Choral Society.

In addition to her husband and children, Lee is survived by sisters Madeleine Ritchie and Carlisle (Joe) Harvard, and brothers Marvin (Rita) Caughman and Wright (Alison) Caughman. She was predeceased by her brother Jack Caughman.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, June 23rd, 2018 at Georgetown Presbyterian Church, 558 Black River Road. A visitation reception with the family will be held at the church following the service. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Lee's memory can be made to the Music Ministry at Georgetown Presbyterian Church, or to the charity of your choice.

I am so sorry to learn of your loss. Had I known this yesterday when in your office, I would not have joked about your answer when I asked how things had been going. May God give you strength.

Mike,
Chuck and I want to send our prayers for peace to you and your family. We have spoken about Lee often in the past days. She and Chuck worked together at Arthur Andersen many years ago, and then we were neighbors in Converse Heights. Diane and Chuck Talbert
