Scott Fanger Obituary

Scott Joseph Fanger, 54, widower of Melissa Fanger, of Beaufort, SC passed away on Monday, March 2, 2026 at MUSC in Charleston, SC.

Scott was born on November 24, 1971 in Camp Lejeune, NC. He was the son of Richard Frank Fanger and the late Ellen Joan Ackermann.

Scott was a father, husband, grandfather, uncle, two-time cancer survivor and most importantly, he was a son. Scott was a very peculiar man, he was very head strong and set in his ways, and yes, he had a different way of showing he loved the ones around him, but those close to him knew he meant only the best and meant it with a full heart. Scott loved to cook. Once he was retired, he really began to fully put his all into his cooking, and enjoyed sharing it with family.

Everyone knew that the Fanger household brought us all together. Even if we all didn't get along, maybe we still don't, but Scott would want us to put our differences aside and come together again to celebrate the life he had on Earth.

Scott is survived by three sons; Wesley, Nathan and Ryan Fanger.
