Jay Gensheimer Obituary

Jay Richard Gensheimer, 73, of Beaufort, SC, passed away on Wednesday, May 21 at Beaufort Memorial Hospital. Jay was born on July 22, 1951 in Oakland, CA to the late John and Stella (Schuster) Gensheimer. He later married Kathleen Slane on March 17, 1996 in East Stroudsburg, PA. He was an accomplished musician and had an impressive collection of guitars. Jay had a love of music of all genres with a special place in his heart for the Beatles. Having lived in Seattle for many years, he was also a huge fan of Starbucks coffee. Jay was employed with the General Electric Company in Erie PA and East Stroudsburg, PA and Morgan Advanced Materials in Greenville, SC.
He owned his own Industrial Sales business for the past 20+ years.
Survivors include: his wife, Kathleen Gensheimer, step-children: Timothy and Shannon Simet to whom he was truly a Dad; grandchildren: Colby Simet, Samantha Simet, Taylor Simet; brothers Gary Gensheimer, Peter Gensheimer; sisters Annette Zenk, Karen Raethka and many nieces and nephews all of whom he loved very much.
Jay will be missed for his light hearted sense of humor and bright smile. A celebration of life will be scheduled at a later date.
