Isabel Ferreira Obituary

Isabel Ferreira passed away on March 19, 2026. Born on October 17, 1937 in

Elmsford, NY., Isabel was a daughter of the late Alex and Lena Brown. She is survived

by her husband of 67 years, Joseph.

A resident of Pawleys Island since 1996, she was a parishioner of Precious Blood of

Christ Catholic Parish, where she actively supported parish staff in varied office related

activities over two decades.

She graduated Alexander Hamilton High School as Valedictorian in 1955. Following her

graduation, she completed specialized training program on the operation and use of

comptometers, high-speed keyed calculators heavily involved in corporate accounting

and payroll applications at the time. She joined AT&T for eight years, rising from

comptometer operator to Computer Room Supervisor during her tenure. As children

arrived, she stepped back from AT&T, but continued to prepare taxes for individuals.

Isabel was a loyal volunteer at Brookgreen Gardens for over 20 years. Her personality

helped many individuals who sought out her friendship and counsel. She always had a

smile and joke which served to uplift many spirits.

Other survivors include her children, Lisa Kelly (Kevin) and Steven Ferreira (Gina);

grandchildren, Nicholas Ferreira and Dylan Kelly; sisters, Rose and Kathy; and

brothers; Alexander and Nicholas. She was predeceased by her older sister, Jean.

In recent years, as she battled health issues with her faithful husband Joe, she was

privileged to be assisted in her journey by Dr. Larry Kelly, Tidelands Hospice and a team

of caregivers from Senior Care Solutions most notably Maureen, Leah, Joy, Nicki and

Ashley who always found ways to make her smile emerge even as her condition

weakened. She was also held dear and assisted by Fr. Paul MacNeil and Fr. Patrick

Stenson as her spiritual guides.

A Mass and Inurnment will be held on Saturday, March 28 at Noon at Precious

Blood of Christ Catholic Church on Waverly Road. It will also be live-streamed at

pbocchurch.com. Goldfinch Funeral Home is serving the family. In lieu of

flowers, the family requests donations be made to Fr. Pat's Kitchen or Birthright

of Georgetown.
