Evelyn Lovell Obituary

Evelyn M. Lovell, age 90, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 21, 2026, at Tidelands Georgetown Memorial Hospital, surrounded by the love of her family.

Born in Yonkers, New York, she was the daughter of the late Raymond and Catherine O'Briskie. On February 27, 1954, Evelyn married the love of her life, Frank T. Lovell, beginning a devoted partnership that spanned more than seven decades and was rooted in love, faith, and family.

Evelyn lived a life defined by kindness, devotion, and quiet strength. She was known for her warm heart, generous spirit, and unwavering dedication to those she loved. An active member of Precious Blood of Christ Church, she faithfully participated in the Rosary Makers group. Throughout her life, Evelyn enjoyed gardening, fishing, crocheting, and reading.

She took great pride in her career as a teaching assistant with the Lakeland School District in Westchester County, New York, where she was deeply committed to literacy and shared the joy of reading and learning with countless children. After retirement, she continued this calling by volunteering her talents to teach reading to adults within the Horry County custodial system.

Evelyn is survived by her beloved husband, Frank T. Lovell; her sons, Tom Lovell, Lawrence Lovell (Margaret), and Frank A. Lovell (Kiersten); her grandchildren, Kevin (Cassandra), Matthew (Kelsey), Evyn, Brittany, and Danielle; her great-grandchildren, Lawrence and Eliza; and many cherished relatives and friends who will forever hold her memory close. She had a special way of making others feel valued and cared for, and her legacy of love will live on through all who were fortunate enough to know her.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, February 3, at 11:00 a.m. at Precious Blood of Christ Church, 1633 Waverly Road, Pawleys Island.

Goldfinch Funeral Home, Beach Chapel, is serving the family.
