Elkanah Jackson Obituary
Elkanah Jackson 35, a native of the Boles Community of Lobeco, wife of Michael Jackson, died Monday, July 1, 2025, at Beaufort Memorial Hospital. She is the daughter of Joe Nathan and Cynthia Lorraine Evans Washington.
Memorial Services: 1:00 PM Saturday, July 12, 2025, in the Beaufort High School Auditorium., 84 Sea Island Parkway, Beaufort, SC 29907.

Elkanah Jackson was born on July 29th, 1989 in Beaufort, South Carolina. Elkanah was the fifth and last child born to Joe and Cynthia (Evans) Washington. On July 1st, 2025, at the age of 35, she fell asleep in death at Beaufort Memorial Hospital.
Elkanah loved learning, valued education, and enjoyed making handmade jewelry, coloring, preaching about Jehovah, and cooking. She graduated with the class of 2009 from Battery Creek High School. After completing high school, she attended The Technical College of the Low Country. She grew up in the Stuart Point and Boles community of Beaufort County. She learned about Jehovah at an early age, and she always had a strong love for Jehovah. In June of 2020, Elkanah dedicated her life to Jehovah. She was always surrounded by love from her friends in the Yemassee Congregation for 8 Years, where she built a spiritual family that has uplifted and comforted her on many days. She experienced the joy of sharing Bible truths with her family and others. Elkanah was recognized as being exceptionally caring and very generous, bubbly, funny, and feisty. Her nickname was Dimples. Everyone called her that because of her beautiful dimples on both sides of her cheeks. Elkanah most previous line of work was clerical work in the tax office of Beaufort, SC. She happily worked there until March of 2024. In 2020, during the pandemic, she started a business named "Glitz and Glam." She produced items such as jewelry, decorated crocs, and charm bracelets designed to attract attention. In addition to this, Elkanah had a love for music, dancing and art.
In 2013, she met her husband Michael Jackson, they were united in marriage on November 21, 2015.
She leaves behind to cherish her memories her husband of 10 years, Michael Jackson of Bluffton, SC; her parents, Joe and Cynthia Evans Washington, Sr. of Beaufort; her husband's mother, Merline Jackson;
Three plus children: Shakeela Jackson of Jamaica, Tishuria Jackson and Orlando Jackson both of Georgia; Two Brothers: Varick (Shemika) Washington of Stuart Point, Joe Washington, Jr. of Charleston, SC; Two sisters: Hyacintha Gordon of Stuart Point, SC and Violet Balladares of Summerville, SC; Her in-laws: David Jackson, Errol Jackson, Lynval Jackson and Mellonie Jackson all of Jamaica;
Elkanah had nieces and nephews to whom she was an auntie mom: Amari Pringle, Da'Auna Scott, Javion Washington, Giavonnia Washington, Jaden Washington, Jalayah Washington, Aubriella Gordon, Jordon Washington, Alivia Gordon, Josiah Ocean Washington; her grandmothers, Anne Mae Evans and Lizzie Gregory Antley; aunts and uncles: Chanda Antley, Wanda Kinloch, Ralph McPherson, Gloria McPherson Tomeka Antley(Todd) Murphy, Howard Nixon, Ray Evans, Jeanettie (Malcolm) Bright, Vernon (Elaine) Evans, Trevor Evans, Pastor Bessie Mae Washington, Pastor Johnnie Washington, Kenneth Washington, Trease Simmons and Cheryl Love; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her eldest sister Shonda Harvey; Grandfathers Moses Antley and Robert Washington and her Grandmother Leola Reed Washington and aunts and uncles.
