Earnest Jenkins Obituary

Mr. Earnest Jenkins, affectionately known as "Moon or Big Guy," was the son of the late Ms. Geneva Jenkins Williams and the late Mr. Roose-velt Wright. Moon made his grand entrance into this world on November 2, 1958.
Raised in the Seabrook area, Moon was educat-ed in the Beaufort County School system. A mas-ter carpenter by trade, he never let a task-big or small-defeat him. His craftsmanship can be seen throughout the Lowcountry. He was a versatile expert in his field; whether it was building a house, adding a deck, or remodeling, "Moon" was capable of doing it all. Because of his im-mense skill, he was highly recommended throughout the region.
Moon enjoyed life to the fullest. He was a well-known jokester with a quick wit (and a quick tem-per) who loved to spend time fishing. However, his greatest joy in life began on December 30, 1997, with the birth of his son, Ernest. Moon affectionately called him "Jr.," often joking that while they didn't share the exact same name, he was a "Jr." in spirit. He often said, "Son, manners take you places money won't."
"Moon" was predeceased by his parents and his siblings, Robert "Bobby" Wright, Wayne "Boozie" Williams, Sharon Williams, and Thomas "Ricky" Williams.
He leaves to cherish and honor his memory: his son, Mr. Ernest "Jr." Jenkins; his aunts, Ms. Matil-da "Toto" Duncan Kennedy, and Ms. Ruby Wright; his special cousins Ms. Ernestine "Josephine" Young (caregiver), Mr. George "Meechie" Jenkins, Mr. Edward "Big Ed" Smalls, and the mother of his son, Ms. Darlene Rumph. He also served as a father figure to: Mr. Francis "Troy" Davis, Ms. LaTreece "Treece" Davis, and Ms. Valerie Germany; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
